Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of shellharbourtreeremoval.com.au (the website) and to any enquiry you submit through it. By using the website or sending an enquiry, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.
Read them alongside our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.

1. What this website is
This website is a referral service. Its function is to take enquiries from people in the Shellharbour area who need tree work and pass them to independent tree contractors who can quote and carry out that work.
The operator of this website does not perform tree removal, pruning, lopping, stump grinding, palm work, hedge trimming, storm clean-up or green waste haulage. Those services are performed by independent third-party contractors running their own businesses.
2. An enquiry is not a booking
Submitting the form, or calling (02) 4214 4566, starts a referral. It does not create a contract for tree work and it does not guarantee that a contractor will accept the job, attend, or quote a particular price. Availability depends on the contractor, the nature of the work, and where the property is.
We do not promise a response time, an arrival time, or that any specific contractor will be the one who contacts you.
3. Your agreement is with the contractor
Any contract for tree work is formed directly between you and the contractor who quotes it. That contract covers the scope, the price, the timing, the payment terms, any warranty, and who is responsible for what. The website operator is not a party to it, does not sign it, and cannot vary or enforce it.
If something goes wrong on the job — damage, delay, a dispute over price, unfinished work — it is a matter between you and that contractor, and you should raise it with them directly.
4. Quotes and prices
Any figures, ranges or cost commentary published on this website are general indications only. They are not offers, estimates or quotes. Tree work is priced from an inspection, because access, height, species, what sits under the tree and how the debris gets out change the job dramatically. The only price that binds anyone is the written quote a contractor gives you.
5. Approvals are your responsibility
Tree work on private land in the Shellharbour LGA is regulated by Shellharbour City Council, and removing or heavily pruning a protected tree without approval can result in penalties.
Information published on this website about Council thresholds, application processes, exempt species or street-tree ownership is general background, correct to the best of our understanding at the time of writing, and subject to change. It is not an approval and it is not legal or planning advice. You are responsible for confirming what your particular tree requires with Shellharbour City Council on (02) 4221 6111 before work begins. Where this website and Council differ, Council is correct.
6. Using the website
You agree to use the website lawfully, and specifically not to:
- submit false, misleading or fraudulent enquiry details, or someone else's details without their consent;
- send abusive, unlawful or threatening content through the enquiry form;
- scrape, harvest, republish or systematically copy content from the site;
- attempt to interfere with, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems; or
- use the site or its content for a competing commercial purpose.
We may decline or withdraw a referral, or block access to the website, where these terms are breached.
7. Content and intellectual property
The text, layout, images and structure of this website are owned by the website operator or used under licence, and are protected by copyright. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Republishing, rewriting or reusing the content commercially without written permission is not permitted.
8. Third-party links and services
The website links to external resources such as Shellharbour City Council, Shellharbour Waste, emergency services and the electricity network operator, and uses third-party form and hosting providers. Those sites and services are outside our control. Links are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the website up and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of anything harmful. The site may be unavailable during maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and content may be changed or removed at any time without notice.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website operator excludes liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense arising from:
- the acts, omissions, workmanship or advice of any independent contractor;
- work performed, delayed or not performed following a referral;
- any dispute, damage claim or payment issue between you and a contractor;
- reliance on general information published on this website, including anything relating to Council approvals; or
- any interruption to, or error in, the website itself.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where liability can be limited rather than excluded, it is limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
11. Referral arrangements
The website operator may receive a fee or other commercial benefit from contractors in connection with enquiries referred to them. This is disclosed openly. It adds nothing to what you are quoted, and you are under no obligation to accept any quote. Getting a second quote is sensible and we would encourage it.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The version on this page at the time you use the website is the one that applies, with the last-updated date shown above.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
